Chigee's AIO range has evolved quickly — and with it, so have the questions. Here's a breakdown to help you understand the differences between the AIO-5 and the newer AIO-6, so you can choose the right setup for your motorcycle.
🧠️ What did Chigee learn from the AIO-5 range?
Chigee's original AIO-5 Play was a universal CarPlay display for motorcycles. It came with a basic handlebar mount and supported multiple mounting options, many of which we stock on our site.
Then came the AIO-5 Lite — similar to the Play, but with added front and rear dash cameras that doubled as a rear radar/blind spot detection system. Both models were compatible with Bluetooth control modules that connected via CANbus, LINbus (BMW only), or OBD ports — allowing for bike data integration and even BMW wonder wheel control.
Eventually, Chigee released a BMW-specific version of the AIO-5 Play that clicked straight into BMW’s factory GPS cradle — no need for the Bluetooth remote. The only trade-off? This version does not support dash camera add-ons, so if cameras are essential, the AIO-5 Lite remains the best choice.
🆕️ What’s new in the AIO-6 range?
In late 2024, Chigee introduced the AIO-6 with a bigger, brighter screen and a new modular design.
There are two versions:
- AIO-6 Max – upgraded screen and core features
- AIO-6 LTE – includes 4G connectivity, remote camera viewing, live tracking, and geofence alerts via the ChigeeGo App
Both versions ship with a universal handlebar mount, but you can customise your setup depending on your bike and needs:
- BMW riders can opt for the BMW Quick Release Adapter, allowing the AIO-6 to connect directly to the factory cradle.
- Non-BMW riders can use Chigee’s own Quick Release Module — simply connect it to the back of the AIO-6 and hardwire the mount to your bike.
Got multiple bikes? No problem — pick up a Quick Release Kit for a Second Motorcycle to swap your AIO-6 between rides.
📸️ What about cameras and theft protection?
- The AIO-6 Dash Cameras plug directly into the side of the BMW or Chigee quick-release adapters via USB-C.
- If you're using the LTE model and want to take advantage of its remote tracking, we highly recommend adding the Anti-Theft Lock. Without it, the unit can be removed from the bike, which also means no power = no tracking.
For riders with the Max model, the lock is optional — but still worth considering if you leave your bike parked in public areas and choose to not take your AIO-6 with you.
