My lights have stopped working — what should I do?

If all your lights have turned off, don’t panic — it’s often something simple. Here are a few things to check before diving into the wiring.

Step 1: Check if lights have been toggled off by accident

Most bikes with Hex ezCAN or Denali CANsmart allow you to control lights using your factory handlebar switches.
It’s possible the lights were accidentally turned off using one of these toggle sequences. Refer to the instructions provided with your ezCAN or CANsmart for your specific bike model — it explains how to turn them on/off or adjust brightness.

Step 2: Check light intensity settings

You might have unintentionally set the light intensity to 0%, which effectively turns them off. Again, refer to the control instructions in your ezCAN or CANsmart documentation to adjust brightness back up.

Step 3: Check the fuse

If the lights aren’t responding at all, check the fuse on your ezCAN/CANsmart — a blown fuse will cut power to all accessories.

Step 4: Check the status LED on the ezCAN

When your bike’s ignition is switched on, look for a green LED light on the back of the ezCAN.

  • Green = working correctly

  • Red = Power but internal circuit breaker has tripped

  • No light = no power / blown fuse / installation issue

If the LED isn’t lit, recheck your connections, fuses, and wiring. If it is green but your lights still aren’t responding, let us know and we’ll help you troubleshoot further.
